TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY: (1) AT 05SEP25 1200Z, TROPICAL STORM 21W (PEIPAH) WAS LOCATED NEAR 35.6N 142.9E, APPROXIMATELY 157 NM EAST OF YOKOSUKA, JAPAN, AND HAD TRACKED EAST-NORTHEASTWARD AT 30 KNOTS OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS. ANIMATED MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY (MSI) DEPICTS A CONSOLIDATING SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED CONVECTIVE BANDING. A 060112Z ASCAT-C PASS SHOWS WINDS OF 25-30 KNOTS WRAPPING AROUND THE CENTER OF THE SYSTEM. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS REVEALS A FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT WITH LOW TO MODERATE VERTICAL WIND SHEAR OF 15- 20 KNOTS, STRONG EQUATORWARD OUTFLOW, AND WARM SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES (SST) OF 29-30 C. DETERMINISTIC AND ENSEMBLE MODELS ARE IN AGREEMENT ON INTENSITY AND TIMELINE OF THE SYSTEM AS WELL AS A GENERAL NORTHWESTWARD TRACK TOWARDS CHINA.
