EQUATORWARD LOW-LEVEL FLOW WAS CHANNELED THROUGH THE BUNGO CHANNEL INTO THE WESTERN SEMICIRCLE OF THE CIRCULATION, WHERE IT ACCELERATED PARALLEL TO KYUSHU'S COASTLINE.
